• Successful action on behalf of Pine Creek Valley Watershed Association against PA Department of Environmental Protection's approval of a sewage treatment plan threatening Pine Creek. See: Overview of Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board Adjudication. (PDF)

• We assisted a municipality and watershed association in overturning the permit for a commercial water well in Berks County, Pennsylvania. The state permit had been issued without consideration of its impacts on the extensive adjacent wetlands of exceptional value, which were at risk of probable dewatering as a result of the proposed pumping. The permittee decided not to pursue the project, once the impacts were recognized, and a conservation easement was acquired to give the site permanent protection. Here are some of the wetlands, which harbor rare plants and animals:
  

• We provided design specifications and expert testimony in support of planning major landfills in southern New Jersey and in southwestern Pennsylvania. We advocated landscaping with native trees and shrubs to maximize long-term habitat values and minimize maintenance costs.
